Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior experience to start?

No. Our Beginner track covers safety, tool selection, cutting, fastening, and basic taping from the ground up. You’ll be guided through your first board to your first finished room.

What tools are required for the first course?

A utility knife with snap-off blades, T-square, rasp, 6” and 10” knives, mud pan, screw gun, and PPE (gloves, goggles, mask). Workshops provide shared tools to test before buying.

Is there a certificate?

Yes. Completing each track grants a digital certificate that outlines competencies such as level 4 or 5 finishing, corner detailing, and basic estimating. Share it with employers or clients.

How are online classes delivered?

Live Zoom sessions with breakout practice, recorded demos, and quizzes. Office hours provide feedback on your work. All materials remain accessible for 12 months.

Can I get a refund?

Full refunds within 7 days of purchase if the course hasn’t started. After start, pro-rated credits may apply. See the Terms for the full policy.

What if I can’t attend a workshop I booked?

You can transfer your seat to another date up to 72 hours before the session, or convert to an online seat if available.

How difficult is level 5 finishing?

Level 5 demands surface uniformity under harsh lighting. We teach controlled compound application, feathering, and sanding sequences that minimize ridges and touch-ups.

Do you help with job placement?

We maintain a community job board and share referrals from contractors who trust our grads. We don’t guarantee employment, but we actively connect crews with talent.

How does pricing work for teams?

Teams of 4+ receive group pricing and private office hours. Contact us to design a focused sprint for your crew and workflow.
